Evan McGowan, DDS

Dr. Evan was born and raised in Grand Island, Nebraska.

He grew up hunting, fishing, shooting, and spending time outdoors. From these experiences, he developed a passion for drawing and painting the wildlife and landscapes he admired. Dr. McGowan knew from a young age he wanted to use these artistic skills in his career. Spending time in his father’s long-time family dental practice allowed him to see how he could use these skills to help others, creating beautiful and healthy smiles for his community.

Dr. Evane attended the University of Nebraska (Go Huskers!), where he majored in Business Administration, while taking the math and science prerequisites for dental school. During this time, he was a member of multiple service organizations such as Nebraska Mission of Mercy and MEDLIFE, which took him to Lima, Peru to bring medical and dental care to the underserved.

He was accepted into the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry where he met his girlfriend, Dr. Therin Baum, who is currently a periodontist at Montana Periodontics in Kalispell. In dental school, Dr. McGowan volunteered his time at Clinic with a Heart, practiced advanced digital dentistry techniques, and earned an award for the Society of Color and Appearance in Dentistry.

His love for the outdoors brought him to Kalispell in the summer of 2022, where he has been practicing since.

As an artist, Dr. McGowan enjoys the cosmetic and esthetic side of dentistry, and prides himself in his eye for light, color, and balance. He believes in developing close, trusting relationships with his patients while providing high quality comprehensive care. He serves the community by providing dental care for patients of Flathead County Jail and Lighthouse Christian Home.

Dr. McGowan is an active member of the First District Dental Society in Kalispell and is a member of the American Dental Association.

In his free time, Dr. McGowan likes to hike, fly fish, camp, and travel with his girlfriend Therin and their five-year-old black lab Bodhi.

In the winter, you can find him skiing on Big Mountain or working on a new painting. He is a member of the Flathead Valley Clay Target Club and has been trap shooting since middle school. When he’s not outside, he enjoys cooking, reading, and planning his next adventure.
